Helping Others

Besides diplomatic ambassadors like Jeff Bleich, there are also goodwill ambassadors.  Goodwill ambassadors help provide humanitarian relief or aid, or exchange gifts.  Like goodwill ambassadors, Student Ambassadors are required to conduct community service.

Earlier this year, our delegation collected supplies that People to People International distributed to schools in disadvantaged regions.  Last week, my mom and I helped prepare “Lunches of Love” for the homeless.

We bought nearly 12 pounds of bologna, and the two of us made 241 sandwiches.  Other volunteers also helped make and pack the lunches.  Some of the other ambassadors and I also made cards to go with the lunches.  Then the meals were taken by caravan to bridges and other locations where homeless people are.
